Get to know me – Q&A

I am so happy to see you back here. In today’s post I’ll be answering a few random questions about me.
This is a awesome and easy way to get to know me better. Have you done such a “Get to know me”-Tag on your blog? If so, please leave me a link in the comments below.

How old are you?

Where were you born?

In beautiful Munich ♥  I’ll be forever proud to call this city my home. Who of you has ever been there?
This picture has been taken in the “Hofgarten”.

Cats or Dogs?

Dogs! I always wanted to have a dog.

Favourite photo object?

SUNSETS! Just have a look at the picture below and enjoy. It was taken from my room, can you believe it? I have more of those pictures in store.

How many countries have you visited?

I hate to see that this number is so low, but the truth is: only 5. For me as a travel fanatic this is way to low. But as you may know, it is not always that is easy to just jump on a plane. Uni, work, money … it all plays a role.
A blogpost about my goal destinations would be so fun!

What was your favorite/worst subject in High School?

My favourites were languages, especially French. And my worst subjects were definitely everythig that had to do with sciences and maths. Who is with me?

What is your favorite animal?

I am one of those girls who was and still is madly in love with horses.

What is your favorite perfume?

“Ari” by Ariana Grande. I used to stay away from perfumes made by celebrities, but this one changed my life. Just like her other one “Sweet like Candy”, even my mum loves it.

Tea or Coffee?

Both! At different times of the day. Tea is definitley my go-to in the morning (mostly green tea) and coffe a little later in the morning or during the day.

What sports do you play/have you played?

All during my school years I used to do lots of sports, including gymnastics and horseback riding. Right now I do not really do one particular sport, but I work out every day and train one muscle group a day + cardio on the remaining days. There might be some BBG and TIU involved.

What is your favorite movie?

Well, I am more a tv show person as you’ll see below. But let’s give this a try.
In my teenage years I was crazy obsessed with Hannah Montana (anyone?) so “Hannah Montana – The movie” was a must for me!
This might sound weird, but I can’t remeber any other good movie I watched … or when I have been to the cinema the last time?

What are some of your favorite tv shows?

Ok, now this is better. Here we go! In no specific order. And these are only my favourites. There are so much more.

  • Pretty Little Liars
  • Grey’s Anatomy
  • The Good Wife
  • How to get away with Murder
  • Gossip Girl
  • Sex and the City
  • Big Little Lies
  • The Vampire Diaries
  • Empire
  • The Arrangement
  • Doctor’s Diary (german TV show)

What is your favourite show? Do you have any recommendations?

Do you speak any different languages?

The first foreign language I learned was English, followed by Latin (that doesn’t count), followed by French and last but not least, Spanisch.
I speak English very well, my french is acceptable as well. Only my spanish is still in its baby shoes (stuck there for over 5 years. haha)

How to use a planner effectively

Today’s post will be a short guide about the basics on how to use your planner effectively. If you don’t have a planner yet this hopefully helps you to get a feeling what to look for when buying one.
Why is my second blogpost about planners? For me planners are the first step to becoming oranized and effecient in using your time, because your time is precious. I always head a thing for planners. I bought my first one in 7th grade already and have never been without one ever since. In those early days I used it to soley right down my homework so I wouldn’t forget about it. But when I got older and I had more and more stuff to do it became a life saver!

All the headings in my calender are in German. I hope you still find them useful.

What do I put in my panner?

Currently I write down basically everything. That includes: all of my lectures, my appointments, my work schedule, my exam dates, notes of things I shouldn’t forget, thoughts and of course when to meet up with my besties. And yes, you are allowed to put time with your friends in your calender just like all those other “appointments”. That is not a bad thing. Here are some tips on how to plan your workouts.

What qualities should a proper planner have?

The outside / the design
Even though the most important features of a planner are found inside, the outside does play a role as well. It’s simple: you have to like looking at it and love working with it. If it is pretty, you’re more likely to pick it up.

The general feautres

Overview of the year: amongst the first pages of a proper planner, there is usually an overview of the whole year. It gives you a general and quick look at all major important events this year and you don’t have to flip trough all the pages of your calender. I would recommend only writing really important dates in here. You might mark your vacation time there or big exams.

Weekly overview: I personally like to have my whole week on two pages with one vertical column for every day. You can see it in the pictures below. Having some space for notes on this page is great as well. Overview is the keyword again, because you get a glimpse of your whole week at once and don’t miss out on anything.

Why one whole vertical coloumn?
It’s all about having an overview (you’ll hear this word a lot in this post) of everything. I write down the start of the appointment and when it ends, the time desdription on the side helps to get a realistic feeling for the lenght of an appointment. That’s important so you don’t get a wrong impression on how much time you have left on that day.

Why are those boxes on top of every day useful?
There are some day that are all about one specific thing that influences the rest of the day. Or there are days on which something is happening you shouldn’t forget about. For example: you big exam or you besties birthday. Once you put it up there you’ll be reminded of it immediately.

 Why use different colours?
Again, it’s all about overview my loves! I recommend not using more than three olours, your normal pen included.
My pink highlighter to … well, highlight really important points that need to be done withing this exact day.
My golden pen to write down the overall goal/appointment/thought of this day. I basically only use it for the box on top.
My black pen (with blue ink) to write down all the other stuff that has a normal/neutral priority.

Why check things off?
It gives me a feeling of relief, because I don’t need to worry about this point anymore. I know for sure that I accomplished it. Just as simple as that. I mean, who doesn’t like checking things off a list?

Those are the main points that I consider being important qualities of a planner. I hope I was able to give you some inspiration to use you planner more often or to buy one for yourself. Believe me when I say: it’ll make your life so much easier!

Welcomes & Whys

Hello and welcome.

… to my blog.

…to my very first blogpost e v e r.

Who am I and what is this all about ?

The basics: my name is Franziska, I am 22 years old and living in the south of Germany. I am a Tourism-Management student in my second last semester. More about me here.
This picture of me is already three years old. New York City. 2014. I still wanted to share it with you. It is by far my favourite picture that was ever taken of me. My hair was still long. I was way younger. On that day I felt like I’m on top of the world!

A few weeks ago, I didn’t really thought I was actually going to open up a blog. It was just not a serious option. On Instagram I follow a few people, who decided to open up a blog just because they not only wanted to share their thoughts via pictures on Instagram, but also add some content around it. That’s really brave, I always thought. It takes a lot of work and courage to put yourself out there. For me, it also has something to do with being vulnerable. One day I stumbled across the YouTube channels/websites of several entrepreneurs, I read there stories and what they are doing now. They started out with simply wanting to share their thoughts and might inspire someone with it. They put in more and more work and suddenly it turned into so much more. That was the moment when it made ‘click’ in my head and I thought well, if they can do it, so can I.
I enjoy giving advice to people and sharing my tips with them. Over the last few weeks there was this urge in me to talk to you about certain topics, discuss about it, exchange tips with each other …  and simply connecting with like-minded people. So why not share it on my own personal plattform

What will I be blogging about?

Personally I think a blog should be about a topic you enjoy thinking about (your business, your passion …). Otherwise it doesn’t make sense to me.
So, what do I like ?

  • travelling (duh! tourism student!) aka discovering new places
  • semi-professional photography (I just take pictures of things that I consider beatiful)
  • personal development

Wait, what? Personal development? Yes, you heard right.
I am a strong believer in #WORKHARD & #HUSTLE & #CREATEYOURHAPPINESS.

Everybody (you included!) can become the best version of themselfes. YOU can reach your dreams. YOU can have your dream job. YOU can create the life you have always been dreaming of. YOU can be an organized and hard-working Girl Boss. YOU …. I could always go on like this.
In order to make all of the above come true, you need to work on yourself (wow, surprise) and develop yourself. Like developing a master project, but this time you are the center of this project. That is what I mean by personal development.
My personal experience tells me that being organized, planning ahead, having a structure in your day and having an open mindset helps you get closer to you dream-self. Right now that might still be some inspiring person out there on the internet, but soon it will be you! We all have one person in mind, who we admire and whish we could trade lifes with. I am pretty sure that at least one person just popped up in your mind, right ? Tell me in the comments below!

Why GirlBossHeaven?

GirlBoss = … because all Girl Bosses are just awesome ?! And I want to connect with you and become one myself.

Heaven = … as in a save, super awesome and calm place for you to find everything you need to become a Girl Boss, to connect with like-minded people …. or just to become more organized … or to see what I am up to.

Do I know what I am doing ?

Honest answer ? No! Not exactly. I dont’t know how to edit pictures somewhere else then in Afterlight on my phone. I don’t know much about blog-design. I don’t know exactly how my blog posts will look like.
What do I know? I know how to put my thoughts in words (I guess). I know how to take pictures and use my camera. I know how to aks for help, if I need it. I know that it all takes time. And I am pretty confident that when I look back at this article in a few months … or even next week … I will already be one step further. I really am looking forward to gaining all that knowledge by just simply doing it.

This is it for my first blogpost. Yay, I’m so happy about this. There will be a lot going on here soon. A little something to get to know me better, a little something to become an organized girlboss, a little something to get you inspired….

I am really excited to be on this new path and share all of it with you! Are you excited? What would you love to see on here ? Or you just wann say hi? Leave a comment!
